Automations are AI-powered workflows that analyze your connected data and deliver insights to your team. They can run on a schedule, trigger when your data changes, or be run manually on demand.
What trigger types are available?
Three types: scheduled (daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, quarterly), data change (fires when a SQL query detects new rows, checked every 15 minutes), and manual (run whenever you want). You can switch between trigger types at any time.
Can automations use data from multiple sources?
Yes. Automations can analyze data from any source connected to Basedash, including databases, warehouses, and 750+ SaaS tools via Fivetran. The AI joins data across sources to produce richer insights.
How are results delivered?
Results can be delivered by email and Slack. Every run is also saved as an in-app chat, giving you a complete history you can search, reference, and follow up on.
Can I create automations with AI?
Yes. You can describe what you want in plain language and the AI will set up the automation for you — including the instructions, trigger type, and schedule. You can also start from 15+ pre-built templates.
How do data change triggers work?
You write a SQL query that uses a {{ last_run_at }} variable to find new rows since the last run. Basedash checks this query every 15 minutes, and when new rows are found, the AI analyzes them and delivers results to your team.
