The Stripe connector syncs your Stripe data into Basedash Warehouse, where you can chart it, chat with it, and add it to dashboards like any other data source.
Only admins can add data sources. SaaS connectors run on Fivetran and are available on Basedash Cloud only, not on self-hosted deployments.

Connect Stripe

Stripe connects with a restricted API key instead of a sign-in form.
  1. In Stripe, open Developers → API keys.
  2. Create a restricted key, not a standard secret key. Grant read access to the objects you want to analyze, or read access to everything.
  3. Copy the key. It usually starts with rk_live_.
  4. In Basedash, go to the Data page and select Add data source.
  5. Search for Stripe, open it, and select Connect.
  6. Paste the key into Restricted API key.
  7. To also sync data from your Stripe connected accounts, turn on Sync connected accounts.
  8. Select Add Stripe. Basedash starts the first sync, and when it finishes, the Stripe tables appear on the Data page.
The key is used only to sync Stripe data into your Basedash Warehouse. The first sync backfills historical data, so it can take longer than later syncs.

Manage the sync

Open the connector from the Data page to see its status and synced tables. Admins can change these settings:
  • Enabled: turn off to pause all syncs, and turn back on to resume.
  • Sync frequency: how often Basedash checks Stripe for new data, from every 15 minutes to every 24 hours. New connectors sync every hour.
  • Sync now: starts a sync right away.
  • Synced tables: choose which schemas, tables, and columns sync, and use New data to decide what happens when Stripe adds new ones. Save your changes to apply them.
  • Access: choose who can see this connector’s tables. See data source access control.
To stop syncing and remove the connector, select Delete connector.

  • Fivetran status: Generally available
  • Tables and sync behavior: the Fivetran Stripe documentation lists the tables this connector syncs and how it handles deleted records.

FAQ

A restricted key limits Basedash to read access on the objects you choose. A standard secret key can also create charges and change your account, which a sync doesn’t need.
